Livethread 12: Global COVID-19 Pandemic

Complaining about politics, politicians, govts. in general is like very commonplace. I used to do similar before, on occasion. When Trump became POTUS, it became a more regular thing for me.

Then, I realized sumthing which made me double-check triple-check quadruple-check whenever I felt wanting to complain about politicians in general.

See, my dad's a member of this club which has a worldwide presence. He even got to be president of this club's branch in our area one year.

There's a LOT of politicking involved. Like it's a just a club, a big club yeah, but wow - so much politics. Because see - politics is about getting groups of people to work together to provide order and service for bigger groups of people.

Ever tried to get people to cooperate with each other to do something? It ain't easy. And yes, there will be lying and backstabbing and lots of broken promises. Familiar with how dysfunctional a lot of families and relationships can be? Governments are like that, because it's a lot of people trying to work together in the service of more people.

There will never ever be a perfect govt., because there's not such a thing as groups of perfect people neither. Like how's your real life relationships? My family, for example, I consider it an ever-vigilant duty to jump on stress bombs before they can explode and shoot "hurt feelings" shrapnel all over the goddamn place.

Let's just say that the more skill points I put into trying to maintain real life relationships, the less likely I am to complain about politics in general. Because a LOT of politics is required to maintain real life relationships.
