Tiananmen-like is a bad comparison to use. Tiananmen square didn't kill hundreds of thousands of people in other countries while grinding the world economy to a halt.
The Tienanmen square backlash is nothing compared to what Beijing faces now. There is a deep, seething and justified hatred of the CCP building globally.
Whatever pragmatic international politics protected China last time will no longer apply. Governments struggling under the strains of handling this global crisis want their populations to be fully aware that the CCP caused this.
