If you can reuse a mask without risk, it mostly means to didn't need a mask in the prior situation.

If there was a virus you were exposed to, the mask protected you. But now the mask is covered in virus. Reuse is dangerous.

If the mask isn't covered in virus, then there was no virus in the prior situation.
