It is so weird to me that these numbers would be published and commented on by the RKI every day. If you look at the numbers yourself, you can very clearly see that we're in a really good place. To be fair, I haven't actually looked at the RKI statements, but from the reporting it seems that the general trend is ignored and a slight change in a single day is taken as a good predictor of the next months.
I mean, it's unsettling how data/stats-illiterate the general public is, but I would expect these statements (and reports on them) to be different and to not react to daily ups and downs that remain within the measurement error. Let's wait another two weeks, then we'll know better what the consequences of Easter, re-opening shops and wearing masks have been.
