My boss HATES home office. He loves talking and he loves checking in on people...
The funny thing is, he sits in another building and i see him at most every second week once under normal circumstances and then he chews me an ear off, gives me some odd tasks between staying and leaving and asks me a lot of bullshit questions about tasks i already completed...
Our contract allows us to work from home one day of the week, if your boss permits you are allowed up to three (before corona) he never allowed anyone more than one and even tried dissuading people from using that one day...
Its such bullshit.
98% of my work is done on my own or in online meetings with people from all over the world anyway, why do i have to spend 2h travelling every day and sit 8h in work clothes and shoes in a place where no one even notices if im there or not?
Just let me work from home, im faster, im more comfortable and i have more time for everything else, its also cheaper because i save on travel costs, food, even fucking clothes...
Home office where possible should be the standard...
